Splintered II

When a soul loses its joy; that is heartbreak
Suddenly and totally stripped of life and purpose
Living seems pointless; a cosmic mistake

There is nothing to hold onto
Whatever was; is now forever dead
All that existed :: exist no more

You stop looking in the mirror
At imploring eyes that mock you
For gone are reasons to live

All that could have been
Has turned to emptiness
Nothing left but skin and bone

Don't ask forgiveness
For the error of your ways are wasted
And not a heart nor compassion

Can help you find your way
For all is lost in the blink of an eye
And you decide that life did die

You take your last breath of reality,
give up your humanity; you are the
remains of a splintered soul.

I've been reading your work for years, and it never ceases to amaze me. I don't know what it is about your diction or word play, but it always seems to "hit home" with me. You write as if it's exactly how you intended to. No worries, of correctness or being proper. Your poems always seem to capture a feeling, or conjure some type of emotion out of me, and it's rare I find that in a modern poet. Keep'em coming. ;P

As always from a writer that I frequently encounter, your verses are quite related to and well liked by me.
