Too Late
She walked the night alone
Waiting for him to show
They planned to run away
And never come back again
Standing beneath the moonlight
She waited, waited, but something wasn't right
It was hours past midnight
And he was no where in sight
While waiting, she sat on a log
That was soon surrounded by fog
Fog that seemed to consume her
And make her nothing but a blur
He walked down the same path
With red roses in his hands
He promised he'd be there
And so there he stood
He put the roses upon her grave
As he let the tears escape
She had died three years ago
Shot while waiting for him to arrive
"I'm sorry," he whispered
As he bid farewell to his lost love
