Everything is what it isn't.

The sky's ablaze,
and the surface of the world is glass.
Something once known is now a maze,
and places you never dare tread
you must pass.

Your once cozy home is now foreign.
People you once knew have no face.
Confusion and Fear,
breed your worlds new decorum.
How unfortunate to awake in this place.

Your world appears to have lost footing.
From its feet to its head it now rest.
Time would appear to have stopped moving.
From something proceeding to sheer idleness.

All that you knew torn asunder.
"How to survive and rebuild" You may ask.
Perhaps a bit much to encumber.
Adapt,
or die,
choose your task....

Yes, a very Topsy curvy world you have invented. Great imagination; well done.

Intriguing, I enjoyed it. Don't laugh but this reminded me of the plot in the last book "Mockingjay" of the Hunger Games trilogy (I literally just finished the book 5 minutes ago). Your poem describes it perfectly, which made me enjoy it even more. Awesome write.
