Things That Go Bump In The Night (The Monster Under Your Bed)

Pull the covers up to your chin
This bedtime story will leave you with
Shivers down your fragile spine

There's a beast that lurks
In every corner of the globe
A she-devil in disguise

She casts her hexes under the cover
Of silky strategically-placed locks
And perfectly plastered make-up

Her silver tongue sharp like razorblades
Skillfully shaving off your veil of self-esteem
Cutting your self-worth to ribbons

Her point-making beak
Pecking your eyes out
Squawking with laughter in the meantime

Keep good proximity when she opens her wings
Casting dark shadows over all surrounding her
Stealing all the rays of sun for her gleaming self

She holds her tail high above her
Chittering loudly over all other sounds
Ensuring attention is always upon her

Long sharpened claws painted red
Lashing out at any that dare challenge her
Tearing strips of flesh to feed on during those moments she must be alone

Filed teeth and venomous saliva
Will chew you up and spit you out
Like sugary gumdrops, to keep her breath sweet for numerous suitors

Beware children, the beast, in numbers too large to ignore
Be she the most terrifying of monsters
Preening atop her high perch

Such a monster be the teenage girl.

I like it! Good to see self deprecating humour. In the last stanza before the conclusion, you wrote-
Be she the most terrifying of monsters
Thats actually the form for the question, it should read as "She be the most...
I really enjoyed some of the words you employed here.
