Never Again
Life story on her arms
Tears dammed in her eyes
Her lips afraid to speak
Afraid to let me inside
So I wait
Texts me HEY at 3 am
Sit on her porch til dawn
Hides as he drives away
The problem is gone
So I go
Packs her bags one night
Soft knocks on the door
Tears flooding her face
Eyes fixed on the floor
So I hold
Sits still on the couch
My hand on her arm
Each scar has a story
She shares them all
So I listen
The walls all disappear
Few bricks just in case
Tall when she walks
A smile on her face
So I smile
