Vegetation Genocide

If you're vegan and people eating meat burns you up inside,
Let me fill you in - plants scream when they die
And your stomach is purgatory for all the celery
and long are the nights for the carrot that you reap
Little plantains frightened as you haunt their dreams.

The tomatoes cry for the decapitated leeks
And the blasts that cut the broccoli at the knees
Quoted before the boiling pits tendered the crisp
"cauliflower, live on for me"

Shattered green families
Segregation from the corn
You stripped of all decency
And stole it's innocence

Spear shoved through the heart of the potato
Stark starch holocaust, when will the lunacy end?
Maniac's hand to bruise the anchored
And rip them from the ground

I've lost all my trust
They scream when they ****ing die
But you're made of disgust
You just won't hear the sound

This is amusing, but **** all of that:
In fact **** all of the poem after the first seven lines.

But **** - Let's read those first seven over and over again. Because the rhyme scheme is stupid ****ing good.

It trails off a bit after that imo (almost feels like you wrote it in two parts), but the first seven are epic.
(They fit my internal speech pattern perfectly.)

Line 5 is a clever fit. The stressed first syllable forces a pause before it, making it sound like an afterthought remark, to me.
Adds a bucket load to the sarcastic tone you have going.
Also the clipped language of the line lets you put your emphasis exactly where it needs to be, your meaning doesn't overshadow the rhythm of your words... It's a hard line to walk sometimes.
(Your best line, I think)

Anyway, **** this comment and my opinions, I think I'll go read those first seven lines again.

This was pleasantly quirky. Very inventive. And indeed really funny.
