Yet Again, Here I Am

How many days has it been?
Since my poems you have seen
I couldn’t possibly count
The huge gathering amount

But while I have been away
My schedule has been packed everyday
Crawling through worded snake pits
Screaming at every letter and hit

The excruciating agony and pain
As I fell victim to lava’s boiling rain
My body is now marked with scars
Where I was beaten with hot iron bars

My eyes deep valley’s of experienced fear
As on my cheek forms a single tear
Showing my journey through the unknown
Letting you see what I suffered alone

Blood boiling in frozen veins
As slowly out leaks my pain
Blackness surrounds my irises like pools
This torture I experienced is called school

At first when I was reading this I was thinking . . . "What is this? This isn't funny? This is terrible." But then I read the last line and I laughed pretty hard. Ah, the joys of high school . . . .
