The blue sky is suiting
To the laughter that sways
As I twirl and I jump
With the breeze I play
Simple songs soothe me
As joy traces my face
It sends a shock through me
And I dash in a race
A thought new and strange
Guides me far away
To a place way unknown
A cliff by the bay
I take a look over
Watch the dashing waves
The thought pushes me closes
Both feet fall with disgrace
My hand reaches out
And catches hold as I pray
I grip a rock tightly
I hope it's sturdy and safe
The thought tugs at me
Asking me to please cave
It wants me to fall down
Into that sea of sage
The thought speaks smooth as satin
And the ocean persuades
Its beauty enhances
Though unclear it stays
The thought gives effort
But my thoughts are afraid
Falling would hurt
Falling could be grave
My mind is a mess
Moving too fast a pace
Trying to be efficient
For time's not to waste
Tears leave my eyes
And drop to the base
I watch as they fall
Sight in a haze
I look and I wonder
How long I could stay
And I start to figure
I must fall someday
So here goes nothing
The thought gets its way
I loosen my grip
And it all falls into place
