Ivy

intertwining ivy,
our overlapping lives.
marked by minutes--moments,
lengths of abstract time.

one moment segues to the next,
a chain of ivy forms.
my sequential memories
mesh somewhere into yours.

the ivy's a collage
of strands so raveled tight,
growing in unknown patterns
is it harmony or spite?

harmony is hoped for
in the sake of good,
helping eachother to grow
acting on the "shoulds"

and the saddest thing by far
would be the killing aim.
for the ivy's intertwined
and each would bear the pain.

Wow. I once tried to write a poem about this same concept, but I could have NEVER written it as well as you did.
I adore this poem and it is really great.

and the saddest thing by far
would be the killing aim.
for the ivy's intertwined
and each would bear the pain.

This is my favorite stanza and it is a brilliant way to end this beautiful piece of work.
Very nice write!
