Shell

I breathe
Through lungs born anew
In lands far removed
From where I last saw you

I ponder,
Curiously,
On your present state of affairs
And your current types of cares

And yet I hold,
Fingers curled,
Apprehensive of the response
I may receive

If one comes at all

I worry:
Has it been too long?

Where has the wind carried
Your cynical heart?
Whose lips have touched yours,
Hands tugged your strings,
Eyes met your form?

And is there a cell in you
That holds memory of me?
