mowing my way to fall

i can taste the fall already
and i've yet to love.
and as the lawn mower's mowing
the grass becomes less tall.

and yes, i've been reduced to this
mocking empty state;
lonely, as the changing breeze
won't sweep me off my feet.

so i'll sit here counting words,
like i'm counting days
'till i'll never see you, dear,
just as i never have.

really good turns of phrases here, reminds me of a more heartbroken falloutboy style writing

which is a good thing
