My Part Of The Sea

I live in the sea,
down there in the cold, black deep.
Where you cannot see
the hidden pain and secrets I keep.
The pressure is there, crushing me,
trying to destroy what little strength I have.
The darkness is there, scaring me,
cutting the bravery I had in half.
I spend hours there quiet and alone,
any hopes I had are either gone or dim.
Of all the places the sun has known,
my part of the sea is not one of them.

I dig it. I relate. Nice comparison/metaphor, mate.

The sea beckons to those filled with a peculiar aloneness, like she’s waiting to save us from ourselves. Your poem makes me feel this way .. I really liked it. I wish it were longer...

I like this I think it could use a little work to make it flow better

"down there in the cold, black deep" could read

Down there in the deep cold blackness

A few other places rephrasing could make more impact.

A good write none the less and it touches something within me
