My T'other

May your warm ears, once more hear the sweet sound the pantyís creak
Hinting at the opening of your dog biscuit treasure chest.
And your poor legs, how you wobbled as if walking on brittle twigs,
Once again be strong, and the terror of the feeder thieving squirrels.

Maybe you will wait for me, my sweet Golden,
Before a bridge of rainbows, with the blinding fog
Lifted from your unwavering gaze.
To show the world again the brown eyed love only a canine can.

I am sorry, so sorry,
That I, who trailed after your golden glow, all these years
Dancing though the ferns and the foot of the bog pine,
Could not be there, to stoke you one last time.

For this is one trail, I canít yet follow.
Not that you, who only knew joy, water skies and kibble
Would know what it is to cry.
I dread my return, and see your cushion bear, if there at all.

I will miss you, oh how I will miss you,
My silky sister.
You are, and will always be my best friend.

I love you.
